The Coastal Zone Management Authority and Institute would like to invite the public to presentations and discussion on Belize’s Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan.  This national Plan is mandated under the Coastal Zone Management Act.  It determines the suitability of coastal land use, and outlines recommendations for sustainable development along the entire coastal zone of Belize, including 3-kilometers inland from the coastline, and all of the cayes.

The ICZM Plan has been under preparation for the past year, with input from local residents, scientific experts, and government agencies.  We now need your input on the preliminary results of the ecosystem service models in order to help finalize the Plan.

The ICZM Plan has nine designated planning regions.  Please join us at the community meeting for your region, between January 25 and February 29, 2012. Meetings will start at 9am. Add CZMAI on your Facebook page for updates.
