In early 2020, Microsoft’s AI for Earth and the GEO BON Secretariat launched the program “Essential Biodiversity Variables in the Cloud”, the purpose of the new US$1 million grant program is to provide financial support and Microsoft Azure credits to monitor Earth’s biodiversity.
The program successfully attracted 60 proposals aiming to contribute to developing the Essential Biodiversity Variables and derived biodiversity change indicators. Of those 60 submissions Coastal Zone Management Authority and Institute’s proposal on ” Al for the Belize National Marine Habitat Map” is one of the five grantees that has been selected!
